This is a supportive psychotherapy group program for adult women choosing to recover from an eating disorder and body image dissatisfaction. The journey of recovery is made that more challenging when needing to balance the demands of work and family at the same time. The group is designed to give you specific tools for recovery, as well as give you the support you need to take care of yourself without resorting to eating symptoms.
Group utilizes therapeutic modalities such as writing, art therapy, relaxation, as well as CBT/DBT techniques. Group members should be in concurrent individual treatment.
To schedule your Intake Interview, call Barbara Reese, LCSW at (973) 783-2292.

This INNER IMAGE therapy group program is for young adult women, typically college age, seeking to recover from Anorexia, Bulimia, or Binge Eating Disorder.
The group will concentrate on your recovery journey as it relates to resolving eating disordered thinking and behaviors and develop a strong sense of self-identity separate from the eating disorder. Other themes include; separating from one’s family, learning to live on your own, and being in charge of your own health and recovery.
Improve your body image and your self-esteem while making meaningful connections with other young women experiencing the same challenges.
This group has a separate Nutrition section led by a Registered Dietitian who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders.
To schedule your Initial Individual Assessment contact Barbara Reese, LCSW, at (973) 783-2292.
Adolescent Eating Disorder Groups
Tuesdays or Thursdays 7:00 - 8:00 PM
These INNER IMAGE therapy groups are for adolescent girls seeking to recover from Anorexia, Bulimia, or Compulsive/Binge eating issues.
Here the adolescent girl has a unique opportunity to receive support and feedback from peers who are experiencing similar food and weight pre-occupations. The purpose of the group is to provide a safe place for the girls to learn to identify the underlying feeling states that are behind the eating disorder thinking and body dissatisfaction. The goal is to help the girls cope better with social, academic, or family stressors, without resorting to eating disorder symptoms and behaviors, such as restricting or purging. The group experience with peers is an ideal avenue to help decrease the social isolation and shame that often accompanies this disorder.
The therapeutic and experiential modalities utilized in the group are: journal writing, art therapy, relaxation/breathing techniques, body image exercises, and CBT/DBT skills.
To schedule your adolescent daughter’s intake interview call Mrs. Barbara Reese at (973) 783-2292.

The INNER IMAGE Group Program
For Eating and Body Image Concerns
Never satisfied with your body?
Feeling out of control around food? Or controlled by food?
Obsessions with body size and diets, restricting, binging/purging, or compulsive overeating…can jeopardize your mental and physical health. Our INNER IMAGE group program addresses the cultural and personal issues related to food and weight in the ongoing context of one’s life.

- Intuitive Eating – specific techniques for developing conscious, healthy behaviors around eating behaviors and intake.
- Body Image – to increase self-esteem and body acceptance, we will be using experiential modalities such as guided imagery, journal writing, and art expression.
